In the present note, the predatory behavior of Echinothrips americanus on Diaphorina citri nymphs, as well as of Thrips tabaci on Phyllocnistis citrella larvae is described. The observations indicate that E americanus individuals were feeding on D citri nymphs, which were finally killed. Nymphs of 1st, 2nd and 3rd instar found to be much more susceptible on E americanus attack compared with the nymphs of 4th and 5th instar. In the case of T tabaci and P citrella, notwithstanding the fact of feeding, as well as the disturbance of larvae were obvious, no lethal effects were observed. © 2012 E.
