Vertical and lateral pressures were measured during unloading in a full-sized corrugated-walled grain bin using load cells placed at discrete locations on the floor and walls of the bin. The bin was a funnel flow bin in which no overpressures were observed. In observing the lateral wall pressures it appeared that some of the variation in the data can be attributed to the initial conditions in the bin in which some tests started with the bin empty and some tests started with the stagnant cone of grain in the bin. These differences were believed to be caused by differences in the in-bin bulk density and the spatial orientation of the grain during filling. This same phenomenon was not observed in the vertical floor pressures. During unloading the vertical floor pressures were observed to vary radially with the distance from the center of the bin with the pressures much smaller near the bin wall.Vertical and lateral pressures were measured during unloading in a full-sized corrugated-walled grain bin using load cells placed at discrete locations on the floor and walls of the bin.
